GROUP DISCUSSIONS 09-10-2026. Group Discussion Topics For 10th-Oct (Saturday) 1.What, according to you, is the most effective way to reduce conflicts arising from the rapid growth of AI? (a) Military sovereignty (b) Government restrictions (c) Company regulation (d) Or, any other measure? 2.What is the best way to promote tourism in India? a) Better infrastructure b) Digital promotion c) Improved safety d) Or, anything else? GD1 (a) Military sovereignty AI is now being used in drones, surveillance and military planning. Humans should have the final control over weapons using AI. The UN has said that life-and-death decisions should remain under human control. For example, an AI-controlled weapon should not independently decide to attack a target. (b) Government restrictions Governments should make clear rules for the safe use of AI. AI-related incidents increased from 233 in 2024 to 362 in 2025. Governments can control deepfakes, fake news and harmful AI applications. For example, the EU is bringing rules requiring certain AI-generated content to be clearly identified. (c) Company regulation AI companies should be responsible for the technology they develop. They should properly test AI before releasing it to the public. Companies should protect personal data and reduce the chances of misuse. For example, companies can check whether their AI can be misused for cyberattacks. (d) International cooperation AI problems can affect more than one country. Countries should create common rules for military AI and cybersecurity. The UN is working towards greater international cooperation on AI. Countries working together can reduce the chances of an AI arms race. Conclusion: AI is not the enemy; uncontrolled use of AI is the real concern. We need sensible rules, responsible companies and strong international cooperation while keeping humans in control. GD 2 India has great potential for tourism because of its culture, history and natural beauty. Tourism can create jobs and support local businesses. (a) Better infrastructure can make tourist places easier to reach. Good roads, transport, hotels and public facilities improve the tourist experience. Better connectivity can also develop less-explored destinations. (b) Digital promotion can showcase India's attractions to people across the world. Social media can promote monuments, festivals, food and local culture. It can also help lesser-known destinations gain popularity. (c) Improved safety is important for attracting tourists. Tourists should feel safe while travelling and exploring different places. Better policing, emergency services and tourist helplines can build confidence. (d) Cleanliness and hospitality can make the overall experience better. Clean surroundings and helpful local people encourage tourists to return. Tourism should also protect India's environment and heritage. < < Back
