*National News*

1. Shri CP Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the 15th Vice President of India on 12th September 2025.
2. Bairabi–Sairang railway line project in Mizoram was inaugurated recently. This rail line will connect Aizawl with the Indian Railways network for the first time.
3. Aacharya Devvrat has taken oath as the new Governor of Maharashtra.
4. Assam experienced a 5.8 magnitude earthquake on 14th-Sep, causing strong tremors in Guwahati and surrounding areas. No major casualties were reported.

*Defence News*
1. India won the bid to host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in 2027, strengthening its position in global maritime leadership.
2. The Indian Army successfully conducted Exercise Siyom Prahar validating the use of drone technology in tactical battlefield operations.
3. INS Aravali, Indian Navy's latest naval base, was commissioned at Gurugram to strengthen Navy's Maritime Domain Awareness capabilities.
4. Androth, the second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft built by GRSE, was delivered to the Indian Navy on 13 September 2025, advancing self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

*International News*

1. Prime Minister of Mauritius Navinchandra Ramgoolam visited India, during this visit, seven MoUs/agreements were signed covering key areas such as Science & Technology, Oceanography, Public Administration, Power, Development Projects, Hydrography, and Space Cooperation.
2. India voted in favor of the UN General Assembly resolution endorsing the ‘New York Declaration’ on the peaceful settlement of the Palestine issue and the implementation of the two-state solution.
3. The US urged G7 and EU to impose tariffs on India and China over their purchases of Russian oil, as part of efforts to sanction Russia amid the Ukraine conflict.
4. Albania appointed the world’s first AI-generated govt minister to promote corruption-free governance.

Sport News

1. Indian Grandmaster Vaishali Rameshbabu won the FIDE Women’s Grand Swiss for the second consecutive time, after drawing her final game against former Women’s World Champion Tan Zhongyi of China, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
2. India created history at the Speed Skating World Championships as Anandkumar Velkumar clinched the country’s first-ever gold medal in the Senior Men’s 1000m event.
3. India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the ongoing Asia Cup.
