NEWS FOR 5-AUG (SATURDAY)
1.     The Indian army has developed a mobile app – HUMRAZ to enable soldiers track their details like salary, postings and promotions. The App will enable the soldiers to view their salary slips, Form 16. The information will be accessible to them on their mobile phone verification of their aadahar details.

World Bank has declared that India can construct Kishanganga and Ratle dams with some restrictions under Indus Water Treaty on Jhelum and Chenab respectively. The declaration was made after the World Bank officials held secretary level separate meetings with India and Pakistan.

The Union government has launched e-Rashtriya Kisan Agri Mandi (e-RaKAM) to provide a platform for farmers to sell their agriculture produce. It is an initiative that brings farmers,civil buyers and PSUs on the same platform. It will connect farmers with the markets of the world.

The Union Government has cleared the proposal to allow NRIs and Overseas Indians to vote through proxy,soon the government will introduce the bill in the Parliament to amend the Representation of People Act.  The decision will enable 16 million NRIs to cast their vote through their appointed nominee in India.


5.     
The Union Government has approved the MoU signed among India and other BRICS members to establish BRICS Agriculture Platform to promote science led, agriculture based sustainable development for addressing the issues of world hunger, under nutrition, poverty and inequality. It will further intensify cooperation among BRICS countries in the field of agricultural research, innovation and technology.
