1. The IAF & DRDO have successfully flight tested Stand-off Anti-tank (SANT) Missile from Pokhran ranges. The missile developed and designed in India & for Helicopter launch during the test met all the missions' objectives. 2. Centre for Economics & Business Research (CEBR) has predicted that India will become the third-largest economy in 2031 in its annual World Economic League Table. CEBR also predicted that China will overtake the US in 2030, two years later than forecast a year ago. India will also see an improvement in its ranking in the World Economic League Table (WELT), rising from 7th place in 2021. 3. The govt has e-inaugurated 27 infra projects constructed by Border Roads Organisation. BRO has been playing a significant role in building roads, tunnels and other infrastructure in remote areas. Road built at an altitude of 19,000 feet on the Umling-La pass in southern Ladakh, has now become world's highest motorable road. 4.The UAE has lifted a ban on the import of poultry products from India. This move follows New Delhi's guarantee that it would follow biosafety norms set by the World Organization for Animal Health to prevent infection from bird flu. 5. The Philippines government recently allocated 2.8 billion pesos ($55.5 million) for initial funding for the BrahMos cruise missile. A team from the Philippine Navy visited the production unit of BrahMos Aerospace in Hyderabad last month as part of the process to acquire the BrahMos cruise missile system jointly developed by India and Russia. 6. India has beaten the UK ro become the third country with the most number of unicorns (countries with at least $1 billion valuation) – 54. It is now only trailing behind the US and China. 7. Chipset maker, Intel, is planning to set up its semiconductor manufacturing unit in India. The US-based chipset giant announcement came in the back drop of recent Union Cabinet’s decision on semiconductors that will encourage research and innovation in the sector and also boost manufacturing, strengthening the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' programme. < < Back
