Defence News :

1.   
The Indigenously developed Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant is set to be commissioned by end of 2021 or early 2022. The project is significant in light of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative as 75% of its materials and onboard equipment are indigenously developed. The carrier is in the final stages of its construction at Cochin Shipyard Ltd.
2.    The Indian Navy test-fired the anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands territory. This comes amid the border tensions with China in eastern Ladakh. 3.    India successfully test fired the land attack version of Brahmos supersonic missile. It was test fired in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The range of the missile has been extended to 400 km from 290 km. Its speed has been increased to 2.8 Mach which is almost three times the speed of sound. ·     
International News :
1.    The Govt of India recently signed 133 million USD loan Agreement with the Asian Development Bank to strengthen the power distribution sector in the state of Meghalaya. ·     

National News :
1.    West Bengal Govt provides basic health cover for secondary and tertiary care up to 5 lakh INR per annum per family. Both state-run and private hospitals are part of the scheme called Swasthya Sathi Scheme. The card under the scheme is issued to the female guardians of the families. 2.    The cyclone Burevi, named by Maldives, hit the Karaikal coast of Tamil Nadu 7 days after cyclone Nivar. This is the third cyclone formed within the last 10 days in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. ·

1.    Australia won the ODI series against India by 2-1. 2.    ATK Mohan Bagan has topped the ISL points table by winning 3 consecutive matches.
