NEWS FOR 6-MAR (FRIDAY)
1. India and the US have signed some agreements in the field of health, oil and defence. In the Defence Sector, 3 billion USD worth deal was signed to buy helicopters. The MoUs were signed in the field of oil and health. In the field of health, Central Drugs Standard Control Organization and the US Food and Drug Administration signed agreements over the safety of medical products.

2. 
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is to launch GISAT 1 (Geo-Imaging Satellite) in order to watch Indian sub-continent continuously. The satellite is to be launched by the ISRO on March 5, 2020. The satellite is to be carried by GSLV-F10 rocket. The satellite weighs 2,275 kg and is to be placed in Geosynchronous orbit.

he first anniversary of National War Memorial was commemorated. The CDS Bipin Rawat paid tribute to the memorial and so did several other leaders of the country.


4. T
he Government of India launched SPICe+, a web form that integrates 10 services of various ministries and departments. This will help to boost Ease of Doing Business in India.


5. 
PM Kisan Mobile app was launched by the Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare. The application helps farmers to learn about their payment status, their eligibility towards a scheme and several other information. It will also act as a platform to deliver information about government schemes and other beneficiaries. This overall will help GoI achieve its goal of “Doubling Farmers’ Income by 2022” easily.
   

6. India bagged a deal to supply 4 indigenously built radars to Armenia. The deal was worth 40 million USD. The Radar is capable of handling multiple weapons at different locations. The deal will help India achieve its Rs 35,000 crores of defence exports very soon. It will also help India find new markets to sell its indigenous defence systems.

7. 
The Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh inaugurated Light combat Helicopter production at the HAL complex in Bengaluru. The project is a part of the “Make in India” initiative. India has been taking several steps to strengthen the Indian Air Force and also to increase Defence Exports. India has set a target of achieving Rs 35,000 crores of Defence Exports by 2024.

During the visit of Myanmar President U Win Myint, India and Myanmar signed 10 MoUs in different sectors. The leaders signed agreements on Repatriation and Re-integration of Victims of trafficking, Quick Impact Projects, Development of Rakhine State, etc. They also signed Memorandum of Understandings on construction of schools, roads, water supply systems and solar power systems.
 

9. PM Modi shall launch 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations at Chitrakoot. The event is being organized to commemorate the successful completion of Prad han Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. There are more than 86% of small and marginal farmers that hold less than 1.1 hectares of land. They face challenges in buying fertilizers, quality seed, pesticides. The Farmer Producer Organization help farmers in addressing these challenges. They help farmers gain better access to market, technology and finance. Therefore, launching more and more of these organizations will help in betterment of life of the farmers. This will also help GoI in achieving its target of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.
