Nepal got its seventh constitution in 67 years under the leadership of
President Ram Baran Yadav the country adopted
secular & democratic structure.The
new constitution has 37 divisions, 304 articles & 7 annexes.

The new constitution has brought in a
secular & democracy in the country which has brought an end to the gruesome
monarchy in the state.
_Women activists say that the new constitution discriminates Nepalese
women, wherein the new constitution makes it difficult for a single mother to
pass her citizenship to her child.
_If a
Nepali woman marries a foreign man, their children cannot become Nepali unless
the man first takes Nepali citizenship; whereas if the father is Nepali, his
children can also be Nepali regardless of the wife's nationality.
_The
Madhesi communities across the border say that the above citizenship measures
will disproportionately affect them because there are many cross-border
marriages.
